TERIYAKI TEMPEH
This is a very flavorful and easy recipe for our vegan and vegetarian clients. Tempeh provides density, structure and high-quality protein to this dish. The nutritional yeast also provides a boost of protein and B-vitamins, as well. Non-vegans can always substitute the tempeh for ten ounces of thinly sliced sirloin, as the nutritional yeast flavor is toned down in this recipe. To serve over cauliflower rice, use 1/2 cup of cooked rice and 1/2 cup of the cooked broccoli.

We often get requests for more breakfast recipes. So, why not take a breakfast classic and turn it into a heart-healthy, anti-inflammatory version? HOMEMADE BEEF JERKY

This beef jerky is a great way to bring protein on the road or to add variety at meals. Making your own jerky is fun and provides a tasty, satisfying chew that is much less expensive than healthy store-bought brands. Slicing your beef against the grain will help make it less tough, too. You can always start with 1-lb. of beef and cut the other ingredients to 1/3 to make a small batch and see how you like it.
PEANUT SAUCE
The recipe can be doubled for extra to be used as a salad dressing, dip for veggies or drizzled over zucchini noodles.
GRILLED GREEK CHICKEN WITH TZATZIKI SAUCE

Greek spices are a great way to add flavor and variety to your chicken dishes. This marinade can be easily doubled to add more chicken, too. Mary Clugston shared her Tzatziki Sauce recipe with us before, which would make a delicious addition. Slice the chicken and place into a nice lettuce wrap with red onion and Tzatziki Sauce, and you’ve got a delicious meal.
ASIAN ORANGE SAUCE

Everyone loves a great orange sauce to pour over chicken, beef or even some vegetables, but it can be quite difficult to find an orange sauce that doesn’t contain high-glycemic orange juice or orange marmalade containing artificial sweeteners. This recipe strikes a great balance and is full of flavor. It has an Asian flair, but would still be great served on the side with a non-Asian meal. It especially pairs well with dark meat chicken or turkey. Do not salt food prior to cooking if you plan to use this sauce, as it contains sodium in the coconut aminos.

BALSAMIC MARINADE FOR STEAK OR CHICKEN

It’s grilling season and this super easy marinade recipe is a perfect way to provide flavor and tenderness to your steak or chicken. Balsamic vinegar adds a soft, sweet flavor without adding additional sugars and helps to break down some of the protein fibers, making the meat more tender.
BBQ SAUCE

BLUEBERRY SAUCE

This is when “thinking-outside-the-food-box” is really in your favor. Traditionally, we have always limited our thinking of blueberry sauce as something to be spooned warm over ice cream, but it’s much too healthy and delicious to avoid. Try spooning this sauce over stronger flavors of fish (like salmon), game (venison, etc.) or dark-meat chicken for a truly elegant dish. You can also mix blueberry sauce with our BBQ Sauce, and use it when grilling chicken, as it adds a delicious, natural sweetness. As a great breakfast addition, spread it over our Almond Flour Pancakes, too. It is also a great option for eating on the side of your meal as your fruit option, making it more like a dessert.
CRANBERRY-ORANGE SAUCE

We often get requests for this Thanksgiving favorite every year. It is a traditional favorite that, with it’s tart and somewhat bitter tang, really helps to cut through the richness of all the other dishes. Yet another great recipe from Wholesome Yum, this is a healthy, fresh alternative to the canned, overly-sweetened cranberry sauces. It will be one of the easiest sides you make for Thanksgiving, yet will yield a lot of flavor and beautiful color on your table.
CREAMY DECADENT MUSHROOM SAUCE

This very easy recipe is so delicious that is can stand alone as a side dish or eaten on top of chicken, beef or even spooned over vegetables. It’s so decadent and rich, that it turns any ordinary meal into a very special dinner. Company will think you have gone to all kinds of trouble when you serve this sauce along with your favorite dish, but it is very simple to make. You can easily double this recipe to be used with other meals, as well.
CREAMY SPINACH AND ARTICHOKE SAUCE

If you’re looking for a great way to make your everyday meals more special, this recipe will not disappoint. Sauces always elevate your dishes, and create greater food satisfaction. This sauce is delicious served over chicken or salmon, or even over cauliflower rice.
DAIRY-FREE ALFREDO SAUCE

This Alfredo Sauce is a delicious cashew-based sauce that gets its cheesy flavor from nutritional yeast, which is actually deactivated yeast. Found in most grocery stores (usually next to regular yeast), it provides a very nutty, cheese-like flavor that is a great source of B-vitamins. You can always sprinkle nutritional yeast on veggies or other foods by itself for a little extra cheesy flavor. You can use this Alfredo Sauce over any vegetable, spiraled vegetable noodles, chicken or anything you like.
HOMEMADE TARTAR SAUCE

Homemade tartar sauce is easy to make and better than anything you can buy at a store. It’s great with grilled, baked or pan-fried fish, and adds a lot of flavor to our Wild Salmon Patties or Tuna Cakes recipe on our Facebook clients’ page. Sauces always take food to the next level, making it more appealing and special. It’s one more reason to love healthy fat! Dill pickles are used, because there is no added sugar – unlike sweet pickle relish. There are two recipe options, depending on your tastes and what you have in the pantry.
MARINARA SAUCE

Looking for a recipe for all those homegrown tomatoes? Marinara Sauce is a perfect solution that doesn’t contain sugar, which is in so many store-bought sauces. It is a quick and very easy sauce, seasoned traditionally with garlic, spices, herbs and crushed red pepper. Marinara can be as chunky or pureed as you prefer and is a perfect complement to zucchini noodles, grilled or roasted vegetables or even with chicken. Out of season, you can always use a quality canned tomato, like San Marzano, whether whole or diced. Depending on the size of your fresh tomato, it can equal 1-1.5 cups canned. Drain the liquid, reserving only if more is needed after cooking.
MUSTARD DILL SAUCE

Simple is wonderful. Much thanks to Cathy Blanks for submitting this easy recipe that can be used in so many ways. Sauces always seem to elevate any everyday dish, and this one is no exception. Use it as a topping on a hamburger or turkey burger, on steak, grilled chicken, salmon, or even as a dressing for a salad. Cathy likes it on tuna cakes (Wild-Caught Salmon Patties would be great, too) or Applegate Farms Hotdogs, as well.
NO SUGAR WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE

Worcestershire sauce has been a frequently requested condiment over the years; however, traditional brands contain sugar and molasses. After trying many recipes, I think we have found the answer! You can use Worcestershire sauce in many ways to add a depth of flavor to your recipes – like marinades, soups, burgers, roast beef, salad dressings, roasted vegetables or even scrambled eggs. A little bit goes a long way, so you don’t have to worry how it fits into the plan. Just enjoy!
SIMPLE LEMON SAUCE

This sauce is so easy to make and goes well with any vegetable or meat recipe.
SPICED CRANBERRY-ORANGE SAUCE

We often get requests for this Thanksgiving favorite every year. It is a traditional favorite that, with it’s tart and somewhat bitter tang, really helps to cut through the richness of all the other dishes. This recipe is a healthy, fresh alternative to the canned, overly-sweetened cranberry sauces. It will be one of the easiest sides you make for Thanksgiving, yet will yield a lot of flavor and beautiful color on your table.
TZATZIKI SAUCE (Dairy-Free)

The freshness and flavor of Greek foods are incredibly inviting, and Tzatziki sauce is no exception. Submitted by Mary Clugston, this recipe is a delicious way to add a tangy flavor of Greece to any meal – without the dairy. Typically made with yogurt, this recipe uses coconut cream for a GHS plan-approved dip for meat or vegetables, or as a salad dressing. Tzatziki lasts about 3 days in the frig before the cucumbers start to break down and become watery. Simply cut the recipe in half if it’s more than needed.
YUM YUM SAUCE

Yum Yum sauce is a Japanese steak house mayonnaise that is creamy, slightly sweet, yet tangy. It makes a great dipping sauce for chicken, beef, fish or veggies. It is an incredibly simple and quick recipe that will really elevate an ordinary meal.
PAN-FRIED COD IN LEMON BUTTER SAUCE

Enjoy tender pan-fried wild-caught cod with a zesty lemon butter sauce. Easy, healthy, and perfect for the Genesis Standard Plan.
CAESER DRESSING

If you’re looking for an authentic Caesar dressing, this is your recipe. Inspired by Wholesome Yum, it is full of flavor and will easily become a family favorite. Don’t be intimidated by the anchovy paste if you’ve never used it. It is the foundation of any good Caesar dressing, and you won’t even know anchovies are there. The best I’ve found is Crown Prince at Kroger or on Amazon. Reese anchovy paste at Walmart is also fine. Keep in mind, not all brand stores carry the same products. Worcestershire gives the best flavor, but coconut aminos work great, too. This recipe makes a fair amount, so you can cut the recipe in half.
ROASTED RED PEPPER SALSA

A key to maintaining a healthy eating lifestyle is incorporating a variety of foods and flavors into your meal planning. There are a hundred ways to prepare an everyday piece of chicken that can transform what would normally be a boring meal into something special and flavorful. Red Pepper Salsa is an incredible flavor booster that can be used on chicken, fish, beef or even vegetables. You can buy roasted peppers already roasted in a jar (without sugar) or roast them at home. They are so easy to make. Balsamic vinegar adds great flavor to this recipe. Purchase one without added sugars (and never “sugar free,” meaning artificial sweeteners). Most will have a natural fruit sugar as part of the ingredients, which is fine in the small quantity used.
ROASTED TOMATO MARINARA WITH GARLIC AND BASIL

This is such an easy recipe and a great way to use up garden tomatoes. You can forego the peeling of the tomatoes and straining of the seeds and blend the marinara to be chunky or smooth. The slow-roasted taste is richer and lends a much fresher taste than canned varieties.
SALMON & ASPARAGUS FOIL PACK

Discover a quick and delicious Salmon & Asparagus Foil Pack with garlic lemon butter sauce by Dr. Cindy Tanzar. Healthy, flavorful, and easy to prepare.
SKILLET CHICKEN THIGHS WITH CREAMY TOMATO SPINACH SAUCE

This recipe is so delicious. It takes very little time to make – yet is very satisfying with an easy-to-make creamy tomato and spinach sauce. We exchange the heavy cream usually found in this dish, for coconut cream. You can use marinara sauce in place of the tomato sauce for another depth of flavor. Muir Glen makes a product without sugar or artificial sweeteners in the healthy food department at Kroger. Serve with a side of cauliflower rice, roasted vegetables, or over spaghetti squash or zucchini noodles, and you have a very memorable meal.
STEAK SAUCE

There have been several requests for steak sauce lately. We have tried several recipes over the years, but they just haven’t been that great. Traditional sauces are either high in carbohydrates or contain ingredients that are not Genesis friendly, such as A1, which contains corn syrup, raisin paste and preservatives. While A1 is more tomato-based, this recipe is vinegar-based. It gives a great zing of flavor to any meat. The Worcestershire Sauce in this recipe has a very small amount of sugar, but is quite small when included in the recipe, so it won’t be a problem. You can always cut the recipe in half if you don’t use it often.
HOMEMADE KETCHUP

Ketchup is a great way to give any dish some flavor or just adding it to Uncured Beef Hotdogs. Here is an easy recipe to make without all the sugar.
